Medical College for Women and Hospital (MCW&H) is a private medical college of Bangladesh exclusively for women. It has currently two academic campuses in Uttara, Dhaka, one in Sector - 1 and the other in Uttarkhan. The college is affiliated with Dhaka University as a constituent college.

Medical College for Women and Hospital was established in 1992 by a group of people known as the founder members. Their aim was to provide quality medical education, research and services to the people of Bangladesh at a reasonable cost. The college and the hospital are run by The Medical and Health Welfare Trust, a nonpolitical nonprofit organisation. The trustees serve without compensation.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: 2020-2021

For Bangladeshi citizens:
  1. Payment of admission fees and all charges will be made under the rules of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. Which will be paid by pay-order in favor of the “Medical College for Women and Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka-1230”.
  2. Yearly tuition fees with other yearly charges are payable at the beginning of the year. Failing they will have to pay 10% surcharge on the amount for default.
  3. Tuition fees after 1st year to onwards payment will be made by pay order in favor of “Medical College for Women and Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka”.
  4. Re-admission fee Tk. 1,50,000.00 (One lac fifty thousand takas only) plus the usual tuition fees of the session will be paid by the students (if the student fails to attend her classes and ward for more than six months continuously).
  5. All students will clear their tuition & other fees so long they continue their regular courses.
  6. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and final professional examinations are the same rules to apply for students who will fail in examinations. If they fail in the final professional MBBS examination, they will have to pay Tk. 25000.00 (Twenty-five thousand taka only) for each attempt for all subjects and Tk. 8,355.00 (eight thousand three hundred fifty-five only) for each subject.
  7. Students who desire to live in the hostel will have to pay a minimum 06 (six) months’ hostel seat rent in advance at the time of admission.
  8. All students will clear their hostel seat rent before appearing in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & final professional MBBS examination under Dhaka University.
  9. All students shall have to pay any other charges which will be imposed by the concerned authority related to the MBBS course, such as RFST, study tour, autopsy visit, etc.
Poor & Meritorious quota:

1. 5% free studentship for poor and meritorious students of Bangladesh.

2. Such students will not pay any security money like normal students and hence not get remuneration as internee doctors.

3. After the completion of 5 years, if the student/student cannot pass the Final Professional MBBS examination, then she will bear the extra tuition fee.

  • At the time of admission, all students will have to pay a minimum six (06) month’s hostel seat rent in advance if they choose to live in the hostel (first on a first serve basis).
  • Students will clear their hostel seat rent before appearing in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & Final professional MBBS examination.
  • Once a student appears in the final professional examination, if fail she will have to pay USD 267.00 (two hundred sixty-seven US dollar) for each attempt per subject.
  • All students will clear their tuition & other fees so long they continue their regular courses.
  • All students may have to pay additional charges imposed by the concerned authority related to the MBBS course, such as RFST, study tour, autopsy visit, etc.
Eligibility & Other Details

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

(Session: 2020-2021)

Eligibility for admission in MBBS/BDS course in Bangladesh Govt. Medical and private Medical & Dental Colleges are approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Medical Education Unit). Bangladesh govt. has formulated the following requirements for admission in MBBS/BDS course in the Govt. & private Medical & Dental colleges.

1. For the MBBS course – The eligibility of candidates is as follows:

(a) Students who have passed SSC in 2018 or 2017 and HSC in 2020 or 2019 with GPA of 9.00. GP 3.50 in Biology at HSC Level is compulsory for all students.

(b) Students with O & A level qualifications and international students with similar or equivalent qualifications should apply with a certificate of equivalence issued from the Director-General, Health Directorate, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

(c) international students will have to arrange attestation of their SSC(SSE) & HSC(SSCE) equivalence certificate & mark sheets from their foreign ministry and submit their papers through Bangladesh Embassy in concerned countries.

d) In the case of national/foreign students admission will be invalid if any document is found to be a discrepancy, before or after admission. No extra foreign/national students will be admitted in excess of the number already specified by the govt. of Bangladesh.

2. Admission will be made on the basis of results of the MBBS admission test organized by DGHS, Govt. of Bangladesh. The minimum score requirement for admission is 40.

3. Admission Process
Application forms along with prospectus will be available from the office of the Principal on payment of Taka 1000/- for local students who have undergone the admission process conducted by the Director, Medical Education, Ministry of Health, Government of Bangladesh and selected for admission in Govt. and Private medical colleges.
